Our recently completed local office refurbishments in Soho include properties in Greek Street just off Soho Square. As well as each office refurbishment (situated in the same property), both projects were potentially challenging in terms of limited access to the building along with restricted parking regulations for delivering materials and collecting waste clearance.

An additional consideration was minimising any noise and disturbance impacting on the neighbouring commercial and residential tenants. Not usual for this type of period architecture in Soho.

Maintenance services commissioned included: plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling and painting & decorating. Additionally, electrical services involved the rewiring of lighting systems, electrical surveys for an EPC and electrical Landlord Safety Tests providing full EICR certification for both offices. A Gas safety inspection and certification was provided earlier in the year.

An unexpected problem was identified early in the process, unfortunately not uncommon with such architecture; a hidden, long-term leak was discovered in a ceiling. With the source eventually pinpointed, damaged beams were repaired to maintain the structural integrity of the upper floors. A large volume of waste was removed from the site on the same day. All other impacted elements were made good after which the ceiling was plastered and painted.

This particular issue provides a perfect example of how we can react to a difficult problem by utilising the breath of our services and flexible nature of our business. Furthermore, little time was lost in costly and lengthy delays, one of the benefits of being close to our Soho HQ enabled us to coordinate logistics in a speedy fashion.
